Hand Stripping

Hand stripping is a specialist grooming technique used to remove dead hair from suitable wire-coated breeds while helping maintain their natural coat texture and appearance.

Unlike clipping, which cuts the coat, hand stripping removes the loose outer coat by hand. This helps preserve the correct texture, colour and condition of the coat when carried out correctly.

What Is Included?

Our Hand Stripping service includes:

• Bathing and conditioning
• Drying, brushing and preparation of the coat
• Removal of dead coat by hand stripping
• Tidying and shaping of the coat where required
• Nail trimming and ear cleaning where required

Hand stripping requires time and patience, so appointments may take longer than standard grooming services.

Some dogs may not be suitable for traditional hand stripping due to their coat, skin condition or temperament. In these cases, our Hand Strip Simulation service can create a similar look using clipping techniques.
