What is the award qualification?
Award Qualification Guide Book
The qualification is designed for candidates who wish to gain the skills and knowledge to prepare, style, and finish several cat breeds and understand health and safety in a cat grooming salon. The course is delivered over a minimum of 3 days of practical training at Absolutely Animals, with an additional 2.5 days of online lessons from home and an online portfolio that meets the 42 guided learning hours.
Personal instruction from Heidi Anderton will be part of the online lessons.
iPet Network is proud to have created this NEW qualification for the canine and feline industries. Over the period of 3 days, candidates will groom at least 3 cats, including a minimum of 2 different breeds each, covering 2 different coat types. There are no prerequisites to starting the qualification, meaning candidates can join at level 3 without having completed a lower level course first.
Candidates will be trained in practical skills such as prepping, bathing, scissoring, clipping, styling and nail trimming on several cat breeds.

What is included in this qualification?
The units included within this qualification are:
337: Health and Safety in a Cat Grooming Environment
355: Prepare, Style, and Finish Several Cat Breeds
334: Feline Handling, Health and Welfare
Candidates are continually assessed via practical demonstration and coursework. There is no requirement to sit a formal exam in order to achieve the qualification. iPet Network has designed the qualification to have an excellent balance of theoretical and practical learning. Absolutely Animals wants to take the pressure out of adult learning, and we can adapt to suit your learning style. Our aim is to improve industry standards by ensuring you walk out of our school fully qualified, confident, and competent.
The iPet Network Level 3 Award in an Introduction to Cat Grooming will demonstrate to an employer or the general public that candidates have a basic understanding of cat grooming principles. Candidates will leave with a basic knowledge base to continue learning or working in the cat grooming industry. It has been designed specifically for those looking to start the journey into cat grooming or those who already groom cats (as a hobby) but would like to gain a nationally recognised qualification.
The units and evidence completed as part of the iPet Network Level 3 Award in an Introduction to Cat Grooming can be recognised as prior learning should a candidate want to progress and complete the iPet Network Level 3 Certificate in Cat Grooming and Styling qualification or the iPet Network Level 3 Diploma in Cat Grooming and Salon Management qualification. The candidate would need to complete additional training days and complete additional units to achieve these higher qualifications.
