Qualification Updates

Due to an update of all qualifications by the Pet Care Trust and City & Guilds, the Level 2 Intermediate qualification is no longer available in this training centre (see downloads to view content),
We felt this qualification would not be in the interest of our students who are on intensve courses and will be acheiving a higher standard of work than is required to achieve the new level 2

At Absolutely Animals however, you can achieve a City & Guilds qualification at Level 3 Introductory and some units from the Level 3 Professional in Dog Grooming

This can be taken alongside a course or if you are already experienced you can take it as an external student. Either way you would be required to complete 3-5 assessment days with us.

If you are inexperienced in grooming, the 20 day course will give you all the knowledge and practical skills required and assessment time during which you will complete the qualification.

During your training you will be required to research and complete a work book to help with the underpinning knowledge required to undertake both the theory and the practical assessments. As well as in-house assessments you will be required to complete small assignments in your own time that will be marked by your assessor.

For those of you who wish to do the qualification without further training i.e. as an external student, this work would need to be completed before attending the assessment days.

This combined Level 3 qualification and price is now available so if you would like to discuss it with a tutor please feel free to contact us. Subject to change

Steps to be taken

1. Access and complete your level 3- Certificate in introductory dog grooming during your course with us

2. After your course apply to the Pet Care Trust to take the written test
(download exemplar Paper)
(level 3- Certificate in introductory dog grooming)

The cost for the level 3 introductory exam paper is an additional cost. This cost has not been included as we felt our students would benefit from a wider choice of venue and dates, booking this through the Pet Care Trust directly. This exam is only offered 2 times a year in June and November and can be taken before or after the professional Diploma.

3. Apply to the Pet Care Trust to take Unit 10, 11, 12, 14
(Level 3- Diploma for professional dog stylists)
please note Unit 10 can be taken at Absolutely Animals-cost £80.00

------------------------------------------

If you are a previous student of ours who took your level 2 with us on a 4-6 week course, we will assess you for your level 3 introductory over 3 days

If you are an external student who wishes to come and take a level 3 introductory with us you can achieve this in 5 days if your prior experience meets the criteria.
